Massive respect to the lads that took part in the first match of the Clubs new series in some seriously wet and wild conditions at Lockwood Beck.. and many thanks to Graham & young Scott Metcalfe for stepping in to give their time to do all the weighing in – an absolute blessing for the lads after 5 hours in the torretial rain!
With those who managed to find a few of the venues larger skimmers to top up the roach weights getting the edge in their sections top rod on the day was Paul Stainsby (pictured below) with 11lb-12oz in Zone C on the dam wall past the pump house. Peter Manning left it late with 3 skimmers in three casts for 11lb-08oz in section A in the woods to take second spot and in third place was Tony Leeming with 7lb-12oz in zone B in the deeper water on the dam wall before the pump house – Well done lads.
Joining them as section winners going into round 2 with the magic 1 point are Jim Taylor (S2 Zone A) Dale Conway (S1 Zone B) and Russ Hodgson (S2 Zone C) – Great performances in really challenging conditions.
